Terra is recruiting an Early Childcare Educator as a primary care provider for infants and toddlers at the Child & Family Support Centre.

Working in partnership with Braemar School, the Child & Family Support Centre is integral to the on site multi service delivery team that enables teen moms to complete their high school education. Early Childcare Educators play a critical and active role as members of the service team, providing high quality childcare through a program that promotes cognitive, social, and physical development and positive parent/child interaction.

The Centre follows the school calendar year; staff enjoy time off at Christmas and Spring Break and a standard work day of 8:30 am. – 5:00 pm. All staff meetings, program planning and staff development are scheduled during standard work hours.

Summary of Primary Functions

  • Provide a quality early learning childcare experience for infants and toddlers whose teen mothers are attending Braemar School
  • Provide parenting information and support to teen mothers who access the Childcare Centre
  • Role model positive child-adult interactions
  • Work in collaboration with other service team members to ensure the best service possible
  • Promote and support agency values and vision

Qualifications

The successful applicant must possess an Alberta Child Development Supervisor (Level III) certification from an accredited college or university. Preference will given to applicants who have experience with infants and toddlers. In addition, the following certificates and security checks are required:

  • Current First Aid Child Care Certificate
  • Police Security Clearance (CRIM)
  • Child Intervention Record Check (CWIS)
